EBST fire alarm acts as a protection against excessive temperatures in heating and ventilation systems. The temperature sensor is mounted in the ventilation duct or on the secondary side of the heat exchanger.

Function
EBST is equipped with two relay outputs which may be used to switch off, e.g. a fan, and activate a fire damper or alarm. The alarm temperature is set on the alarm control. See function principle. If the sensor temperature exceeds the alarm temperature, a red LED indicates alarm and the relays are de-energized. The unit also monitors the sensor cable and the sensor, and will activate an alarm in case of failure.

The alarm is cancelled by the reset button when the temperature has dropped below the alarm point. An external reset function can be connected to terminals 8 and 10. The alarm will also reset if the power supply is switched off for more than 5 s. In order to avoid alarm at low temperatures, a resistance of 75Kohm should be installed in parallel to the sensor.

Safety function
An alarm is given if the sensor cable is disconnected or short-circuited.
